The RN Evening Supervisor is responsible for providing care for the residents by communicating with others to ensure the continuation of quality care while making rounds and evaluating/addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of the residents.
As a supervisory role, this position is also responsible for supervising and training assigned staff on the unit to ensure quality care expectations are met.

Responsibilities:
Completes admission process with all new admits to include the following:
Completion of new admit checklist, physician orders, admit assessment, risk assessments, baseline care plan, dietary notification, review of consents for Flu and Pneumonia, Immunization log, diagnosis and clinical information entry, etc).
Completes readmission process to include items listed in #1 and the readmit checklist.
Performs rounds with physicians and/or Nurse Practitioner and assist with signing off telephone orders.
Assist with data entry review of physician orders.
Assist nurses with incidents, emergencies, etc.
as needed to ensure quality care is performed.
Assist with charting as needed.
Assist with discharge process.
Perform discharge review of discharge record with completion of discharge checklist.
Reviews communication systems to be knowledgeable of any unusual occurrences during the previous shifts.
Makes rounds frequently during the shift providing intervention as needed.
During the entire shift, will be attune to needs of the unit while doing other nursing tasks.
Prepares and administers medications as ordered.
Reorders medications as needed in preparation for future shifts.
Assesses and documents medication issues as per policy.
Provides special procedures as ordered.
Supervises the meal service for each resident on the unit.
Works with the staff to assure each resident is provided adequate nutrition for each meal.
Continually assesses and re assesses residents for risk of complications as a result of being in the facility.

Document on nurse's notes as per policy.
Assures there is accurate and timely documentation of any unusual observation, incident, or happening.
Assists in the ordering and reviewing of results of laboratory tests as indicated.
Notifies physician of results.
Notifies the physician of unusual findings as indicated.
Assists with auditing charts.
Assists with answering and correcting consultant reports.
Makes appropriate notes in Communication Books to assure adequate communication is maintained for nursing.
Assists in keeping other departments informed of resident's change of condition as indicated.
Assists in providing in services for assigned staff.
Keeps nurse's station, medication room clean.
Assigns Nursing Assistants to keep each ancillary room clean and orderly.
Assigns staff to keep equipment clean and in proper condition for use.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
Demonstrates leadership and managerial ability.
Has the ability to organize, plan, and supervise care.
Maintains effective interpersonal relationships.
Is of good emotional, mental, and physical health, having sound judgment and high professionally standards.
Must be willing and capable of providing emergency assistance to residents as indicated.
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must demonstrate knowledgeable skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
